Palm Beach, Broward Counties See Increase in Home Sales

There’s no doubt about the fact that Spring is the season that sees the most home sales of the year. This period ranges from March to May and the increase tends to be as a result of the fact that this is the period of time when persons are eager to find homes prior to the start of the school season. This is therefore a time when property management in Florida experience a surge in demand for homes to purchase.

In March 2015, Palm Beach County saw a total of 1,687 sales of existing single family homes, which was the highest number of homes sold in the entire country for any one month in 11 years. This was a 38% increase from the same period last year in March 2014, according to information provided by the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches. Broward County however, saw a total of 1,399 sales, which represents a 16% increase from the same period last year, according to Greater Fort Lauderdale Realtors.

The median sales price is currently $290,000 for Broward County, which is an increase of 8% from a year ago, while Palm Beach County’s median sales price decreased by 3% to be at $279,000. The median sales price for the country however, has been on the decline for seven of the last eight months.
